If you managed to catch Rishi Sunak delivering the Spring Statement you will have noticed that there were several mentions of the R&D regime, particularly in respect of a reform of the regime. Whilst there were some details highlighted in the statement and in the associated documents behind the scenes it is still not entirely clear what the reform is going to look like.
There is potentially good news for the large company regime on the way as the Chancellor mentioned boosting the generosity of the scheme.
However the mentions in respect of the SME regime were not so positive. You may recall we highlighted a gentle warning 2 weeks ago to companies claiming under the SME regime and unfortunately it appears there maybe some choppy waters on the way for claimants under this regime!
